Samat home
Samat gym, first and foremost is a home, home in every sense of the… read more word. Where people love, care and support each other. It’s a home to families, fighters, trainers and workers that eat, sleep and live here. A home deep in the rich history, respect, traditions and spirit of Muay Thai. A home to the legends and former champions, also to current regional and stadium champions. A home where I felt like family straight away despite the language barrier. They invited me into their home.
Training
Training is twice a day, early morning and afternoon. Starts with a warm up run then followed by skipping, shadow boxing, pad work, bag work, sparring, clinching, weights then cool down and stretch. Solid 2 to 3 hours. The gym has a core group of active pro fighters from 12 to 25 years old. Mixed with all level’s, locals and foreigners from 5 to 45+ years old. Trainers will cater and personalize training to your level, and are very fun, humble and well experienced.
Food
They feed you here! Food, is home cooked restaurant quality meals, cooked fresh everyday served with fresh fruit and served twice a day straight after training. If it’s not enough, you can always ask for seconds which I often did. They really try to cater to foreigners too by serving steak, burgers, fries, fried chicken and chicken nuggets not just typical Thai food like pad Thai, rice, noodles or curries.
Accommodation
Accommodation is right on site. The rooms are well-built, solid and quit. They are more than big enough with plenty of room to walk around, extra room to place a yoga matt on the floor, with air con, fan, mini fridge, kettle, study table, tv and two big cupboards. The bathroom is big with a big shower. The rooms are well maintained and kept clean.
Facilities and gym
The gym is huge, built in an open-air style under a roof, but partially enclosed. Lots of fans, kick bags, gym set and full-size professional ring. They have two ice baths, a sauna and public toilets and showers. Everything is very clean and functional.
Overall
I wish I could live here. All the local fighters are like brothers. All the staff and trainers are like family. I felt included and among them, cared for and supported while having lots of fun. I was invited and joined the locals in dinners, birthdays and karaoke. Watched their brave locals fight on TV together and got free access with the trainers and fighters in the locker rooms at big stadiums. I got free massages from the trainers. Saw Samat on-set filming a movie here. When I was sick and injured, they took me to the doctors. They let me ride their scooter to the shops. They allowed me flexible payment and discounted me on the time I couldn’t train due to my injuries and sickness. I wish I could fight for them, but I’m a little old now and also have remote work commitments. However, I highly recommend this gym for anybody, if you want to fight or just keep fit and experience real Muay Thai like I did. Ooooiiiiee!!! 😊I was there for over 4 months in total.

November 24, 2022I stayed and trained at this gym for a total of 3 months, and I… read more honestly can’t say enough good things about it. The coaches don’t just train you, they really care about you on a personal level, especially Kru Dam, who made a huge impact on me. While training here, I was able to win my very first fight, and the support I received from everyone made it feel like I was part of a family.
The gym did a lot for me personally, not just in terms of Muay Thai but also in helping me grow as a person. You can tell they care deeply not only about the fighters but also about all of the staff who make the place run. If you’re looking for a gym that pushes you, supports you, and treats you like family, this is the place.
